BṚHADĀRAṆYAKA UPANISHAD · 1.5.7

पिता माता प्रजैत एव ।
मन एव पिता वाङ् माता प्राणः प्रजा ॥

pitā mātā prajaita eva ।
mana eva pitā vāṅ mātā prāṇaḥ prajā ॥

These are father, mother, and child: the father is mind, the mother speech, the child breath.
