आत्मानं चेद् विजानीयाद् अयम् अस्मीति पुरुषः ।
किम् इच्छन् कस्य कामाय शरीरम् अनु संज्वरेत् ॥
ātmānaṃ ced vijānīyād ayam asmīti puruṣaḥ ।
kim icchan kasya kāmāya śarīram anu saṃjvaret ॥
'If a man understands the Self, saying, "I am He," what could he wish or desire that he should pine after the body.
