यस्माद् अर्वाक् संवत्सरो ऽहोभिः परिवर्तते ।
तद् देवा ज्योतिषां ज्योतिर् आयुर् होपासते ऽमृतम् ॥

yasmād arvāk saṃvatsaro ’hobhiḥ parivartate ।
tad devā jyotiṣāṃ jyotir āyur hopāsate ’mṛtam ॥

'He behind whom the year revolves with the days, him the gods worship as the light of lights, as immortal time.
