CHĀNDOGYA UPANISHAD · 2.24.11

पुरा तृतीयसवनस्योपाकरणाज् जघनेनाहवनीयस्योदङ्मुख उपविश्य स आदित्यं स वैश्वदेवं सामाभिगायति ॥

purā tṛtīyasavanasyopākaraṇāj jaghanenāhavanīyasyodaṅmukha upaviśya sa ādityaṃ sa vaiśvadevaṃ sāmābhigāyati ॥

Before the beginning of the third oblation, the sacrificer, sitting down behind the Âhavanîya altar, and looking towards the north, sings the Sâman, addressed to the Âdityas and Visve Devas:
