उद्गृह्णाति तन् निधनं वर्षयति ह य एतद् एवं विद्वान् वृष्टौ पञ्चविधं सामोपास्ते ॥
udgṛhṇāti tan nidhanaṃ varṣayati ha ya etad evaṃ vidvān vṛṣṭau pañcavidhaṃ sāmopāste ॥
The nidhana is, 'it stops.' There is rain for him, and he brings rain for others who thus knowing meditates on the fivefold Sâman as rain.
