CHĀNDOGYA UPANISHAD · 2.8.2

यद् उद् इति स उद्गीथः ।
यत् प्रतीति स प्रतिहारः ।
यद् उपेति स उपद्रवः ।
यन् नीति तन् निधनम् ॥

yad ud iti sa udgīthaḥ ।
yat pratīti sa pratihāraḥ ।
yad upeti sa upadravaḥ ।
yan nīti tan nidhanam ॥

Ud is the udgîtha, pra the pratihâra, upa the upadrava, ni the nidhana.
