CHĀNDOGYA UPANISHAD · 6.1.7

न वै नूनं भगवन्तस् त एतद् अवेदिषुः ।
यद् ध्य् एतद् अवेदिष्यन् कथं मे नावक्ष्यन् ।
इति भगवांस् त्व् एव मे ब्रवीत्व् इति ।
तथा सोम्येति होवाच ॥

na vai nūnaṃ bhagavantas ta etad avediṣuḥ ।
yad dhy etad avediṣyan kathaṃ me nāvakṣyan ।
iti bhagavāṃs tv eva me bravītv iti ।
tathā somyeti hovāca ॥

The son said: 'Surely those venerable men (my teachers) did not know that. For if they had known it, why should they not have told it me? Do you, Sir, therefore tell me that.' 'Be it so,' said the father.
