Through Surya then, through the growth of the illumination in the mind which enables it eventually to pass beyond itself, we have the first principle of progress from mortality to immortality. It is by the Sun as a door or gate1 that the individual, the limited consciousness attains to the full consciousness and life in the one, supreme and all-embracing Soul.
