MUṆḌAKA UPANISHAD · 1.1.8

तपसा चीयते ब्रह्म ततोऽन्नमभिजायते ।
अन्नात्प्राणो मनः सत्यं लोकाः कर्मसु चामृतम् ॥ ८॥

tapasā cīyate brahma tato’nnamabhijāyate ।
annātprāṇo manaḥ satyaṃ lokāḥ karmasu cāmṛtam ॥ 8॥

Brahman grows by his energy at work, and then from Him is Matter born, and out of Matter life, and mind and truth and the worlds, and in works immortality.
