BṚHADĀRAṆYAKA UPANISHAD · 1.3.15

अथ श्रोत्रम् अत्यवहत् ।
तद् यदा मृत्युम् अत्यमुच्यत ता दिशो ऽभवन् ।
ता इमा दिशः परेण मृत्युम् अतिक्रान्ताः ॥

atha śrotram atyavahat ।
tad yadā mṛtyum atyamucyata tā diśo ’bhavan ।
tā imā diśaḥ pareṇa mṛtyum atikrāntāḥ ॥

Then he carried the ear across. When the ear had become freed from death, it became the quarters (space). These are our quarters (space), which have stepped beyond death.
