CHĀNDOGYA UPANISHAD · 5.2.3

तद् धैतत् सत्यकामो जाबालो गोश्रुतये वैयाघ्रपद्यायोक्त्वोवाच ।
यद्य् अप्य् एनच् छुष्काय स्थाणवे ब्रूयाज् जायेरन्न् एवास्मिञ् छाखाः प्ररोहेयुः पलाशानीति ॥

tad dhaitat satyakāmo jābālo gośrutaye vaiyāghrapadyāyoktvovāca ।
yady apy enac chuṣkāya sthāṇave brūyāj jāyerann evāsmiñ chākhāḥ praroheyuḥ palāśānīti ॥

Satyakâma Gâbâla, after he had communicated this to Gosruti Vaiyâghrapadya, said to him: 'If you were to tell this to a dry stick, branches would grow, and leaves spring from it.'
